Children′s Hospital Los Angeles

Founded in 1901, Children′s Hospital Los Angeles is the oldest freestanding pediatric hospital in California. For the third year in a row, Children′s Hospital Los Angeles was ranked fifth on the U.S. News & World Report′s prestigious Honor Roll of the best Children′s hospitals. Only 10 Children′s hospitals in the United States are on the magazine′s 2014-15 Honor Roll, a status Children′s Hospital has been recognized for every year since the list′s inception.

Children′s Hospital Los Angeles′ expertise spans more than 30 specialties and 100 sub-specialties and has Centers of Excellence in the following areas:

The hospital′s Center for Global Health consists of International Patient Services, Wellness Exams and the Global Telemedicine Program. The International Patient Services staff provides concierge services designed to make the healthcare experience as comfortable, convenient and efficient as possible. These services include:

  • Helping the patient′s families learn about CHLA′s services and physicians
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Obtaining treatment plans with estimated medical costs
  • Completing required immigration and customs medical documents
  • Coordinating transportation and housing
  • Obtaining interpretation services, and
  • Recommending popular activities in Los Angeles

Children′s Hospital offers comprehensive wellness and physical examinations tailored to the patient′s needs. Services may include detailed physical examinations; auditory, dental and vision exams; immunizations; laboratory, radiology and imaging testing; and other primary care services.

Lastly, the Global Telemedicine Program provides initial and follow-up pediatric specialty consultations via telemedicine to care for the patient′s health condition, without the need to travel far distances for care.
